Saturday, April 2, we’ll start at RMHD. Arrive wearing your favorite footed pajamas. We’ll head north to Loveland and switch bikes at all the stoplights. Then it’s on to Steamboat Springs and skinny dipping at Strawberry Park’s Natural Hot Springs. Next it’s on to Dinosaur for an order of brontosaurus ribs. (Fred Flintstone, eat your heart out!) Head southeast on highway 64 to Rangely, then catch the 139 south to Glenwood Springs. Make sure to outfit the front of the bike with a ski because you will be reaching altitudes of 8,200+ feet. After several hours, you’ll return to civilization, and it’s on to Durango via Highways 50 and 550. Along the way, Purgatory will be on your right, and about now, you are halfway through the route. You will definitely be feeling like you are in purgatory. Wait a second… what-the- what?!? You suddenly wake up and realize…. April Fools. You didn’t really think you could do this all on April 2nd, did you?
